The Urban Pantry

Tasting Australia 2019

Since 1997, Tasting Australia has been one of Australia’s most anticipated culinary festivals. Tasting Australia is a journey through South Australia’s produce from paddock to plate and a celebration of real food heroes. The ten-day festival surpasses eating and drinking to uncover what South Australia’s food scene is all about.

In 2019, the festival once again expanded even further to showcase some of the best produce from Tasting Australia in Rundle Mall. Between 600 and 1,000 food lovers each day from across the state visited the Urban Pantry to begin their journey to discover and taste some of South Australia’s best produce.

Urban Pantry

A free event, the Urban Pantry celebrated top producers, outstanding artisans and iconic food and beverage brands. The pop-up pantry was the perfect stop in the bustling city centre to browse, taste samples and give customers the opportunity to purchase their favourites.

Rundle Mall partnered with producers and brands from five key regions across the state who stocked the Urban Pantry with their products each day. Each of these brands saw an increase in both brand and product awareness, as well as sales. Of those brands interviewed, 100% said they would definitely participate again.
