The Christmas season is one of Rundle Mall’s biggest events on the retail calendar as it becomes the heart of Christmas celebrations in the city. Every year the Mall promises to deliver a sparkling and enchanting festive celebration, creating unique, must-see installations that create long-term Christmas traditions and compel people to visit Rundle Mall.
From the moment Santa Claus arrives in town in November with the Christmas Pageant, through to 6 January, Rundle Mall’s Christmas campaign is supported with an extensive PR and media campaign giving people reasons to come into the Mall, see the decorations and shop.
In 2019, 10 individually-themed windows were installed along the 520m length of the Mall, inspired by hand-crafted artisanry from identities, brands and institutions to infuse Australian culture with the rituals, joy and wonder of Christmas.
Rundle Mall partnered with brands such as H&M, the Art Gallery of South Australia and renowned South Australian couturier Cristina Tridente of couture + love + madness, to create scenes within each window, each telling a story and delivering messages of love, hope and intention for all ages.
From treasuring the memories created when friends and family gather, to the beauty of handmade gifts for the children and the intricacies of miniature worlds, the Christmas windows brought to life the magic of Christmas.
