Road closures

This year the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant returns to the streets on Saturday 12 November. Commencing at the corner of South Terrace and King William Street at 9:30am the Pageant will wind it's way through the streets of Adelaide, finishing at the Adelaide Town Hall by approximately 12:00pm.

The following road closures will be in place around Rundle Mall on Saturday 12 November:

• King William Street between Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga and North Terrace - from 5:00am to 1:00pm 
• Pulteney Street between Angas Street and North Terrace - from 5:00am to 1:00pm
• Grenfell Street between Frome Street and King William Street - from 5:00am to 1:00pm
• Austin Street between North Terrace and Pulteney Street - from 5:00am to 1:00pm
• Charles Street between Rundle Mall and North Terrace - from 5:00am to 1:00pm
• Stephens Place between Rundle Mall and North Terrace - from 5:00am to 1:00pm 
• Gawler Place between Wakefield Street and North Terrace - from 5:00am to 1:00pm 

To facilitate the road closures, temporary parking No Stopping Signs (TPC’s) will be installed along the Pageant route including in some of the side streets, and roads landlocked by the Pageant route.

Pageant Day in the Mall

After the exuberant fun of the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant on Saturday 12 November, we’re inviting pageant goers to explore the festive fun that has taken over the heart of the city - from the Rundle Mall Christmas windows flanked by a forest of Christmas trees and twinkling lights, to the fun of following Rundle Mall's newest and cheekiest resident, Merry the Mall Mouse, on its journey through the decorations, and visiting the jolly man himself at Santaland or The Magic Cave.

We’re encouraging visitors to the Mall, to go to the Christmas Cracker window from 2:00pm - 2:30pm, located near Woolworths, to receive their free Christmas cracker, with the chance to win a $30 Rundle Mall shopping voucher inside.

Minute of silence

To commemorate Remembrance Day on Friday 11 November, a minute silence will be observed at 11:00am in Rundle Mall followed by a live performance of The Last Post by Mr David Fechner from the Port Adelaide City Band at the Gawler Place Canopy. The Rundle Mall music will be turned off for 30 minutes to assist in the minute’s silence.

Road closures

The RSL will also be holding the annual Remembrance Day Service at the War Memorial on North Terrace.  City of Adelaide will be supporting with a road closure to vehicle traffic on North Terrace from King William Street to Pulteney Street. Kintore Avenue from North Terrace to Morgan Thomas Lane will also be closed. The road closure will be in place for 1 hour from 10:30am until 11:30am.

Throughout the closure carpark access will be restricted but egress will be maintained out of the Myer Centre carpark (Stephens Place) and UPark (Gawler Place, left hand exit only onto North Terrace).

The Wilson carpark will remain open to access for westbound vehicles and egress (right turn only) for the duration.
